Garden Design Basics:
Unique, Beautiful, Sustainable |
The Anatomy of Successful Garden
& Landscape Design |
After taking precise onsite measurements,
copious digital photos and investigating the onsite
opportunities and limitations of your space, we
conduct an in-depth interview to discuss your
ideal garden, any household issues such as physical
limitations, allergies and intended usage. We
also tailor the design specification keeping an
eye on realistic costs by suggesting the appropriate
materials & monthly maintenance services to
fit your budgetary needs. Remember, if you want
expansive usage of expensive hardscape materials
the installation cost of your garden can be substantial.
Let us suggest a few alternatives which can achieve
the desired look & feel of your dream garden
while saving you substantial up front costs. |
The ideal
landscape or garden, according to our philosophy,
should function both esthetically & practically.
It should reflect the unique personality of the
owner(s) as well as blending seamlessly into the
surrounding environment. We truly believe that
the best landscape and garden designs sublimely
& seamlessly blur the lines between art, human
function & the surrounding natural environment. |

We meticulously hand draft & hand color (by
request) each & every design which we feel
gives the design a more organic, human-artistic
feeling, communicating the subtle nuances you
are looking for in your ideal garden or landscape
design. While computer aided drafting is a possible
method of creation, we feel the cold mechanical
look & feel of electronic drawings often lose
much of the intended stylistic/thematic quality
that customers expect to see reflected in their
proposed conceptual plans. Simply put, hand drawings
do a much better job in communicating small details
which we feel can never be achieved in mechanical-electronic
(CAD) documents.
